Mr. Domenick Ferruggia, 80, of New Providence and Manasquan, NJ passed away peacefully in his home with his family by his side on Sunday, July 11, 2010.
The visitation will be at Paul Ippolito Berkeley Memorial, 646 Springfield Ave., Berkeley Hts., NJ on Tuesday, July 13th, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, July 14th, at 10 AM in Our Lady of Peace Church, New Providence, followed by the entombment in St. Teresa's Mausoleum, Summit. Domenick was born and raised in Newark, NJ and lived in Queens, NY for 22 years before moving to New Providence, NJ 38 years ago.
Domenick was an Navy veteran of the Korean War. Upon his discharge he spent his career in sales and purchasing before retiring as the Vice-President of Sales for an industrial services company 15 years ago.
An avid beach lover, Domenick enjoyed spending his leisure time with family , friends, and his pets at the Jersey Shore.
Domenick is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Catherine (Dowd); his daughters, Janet and Lisa Ferruggia; his sister Lena Rizzo and brother Carmen Ferruggia and many loving relatives and friends. The youngest of 8 children, he was pre-deceased by his parents, Domenick and Philomena, and his siblings Thomas and Salvatore Ferruggia, Josephine Mayo, Rose Iotti, and Mary Cagnole.
