Richard L. Olive, 70, a longtime member of the Summit and Berkeley Heights communities, passed away in his home surrounded by his loving family and friends, on Wednesday, June 30, 2010.

Richard was born in Summit, NJ to Frank and Winifred Olive. He lived in Summit and Berkeley Heights most of his life and had a life-long legal practice in Summit, along with his father, Frank.

Richard attended The Pingry School followed by the University of North Carolina, where he also attended law school.

Richard loved life and enjoyed gardening, dancing, traveling, and relaxing at the beach. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle and is survived by his sons, Richard, Jr. and his wife, Dianne, Christopher and his wife, Kate, and Greg and his wife, Julie; grandchildren Kristina, Jessica, Caitlyn, Rebecca, and Matthew; and sister, Barbara Paterson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial visitation at Paul Ippolito Summit Memorial, 7 Summit Ave., Summit, NJ on Tuesday, July 6th, from 11 AM-12 PM followed immediately by the memorial prayer service to begin at 12 PM in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Richard Olive may be made to National Brain Tumor Society, East Coast Office, 124 Watertown Street, Suite 2D, Watertown, MA 02472.
